Stay On I-81 South.

At Abingdon, VA take Exit 17.
Turn right at end of exit ramp toward downtown.

At the intersection beside the brick Federal Courthouse, turn Left onto
US 58/US 19.

Go about 0.5 mile and turn
right on to US 19 North.

Stay on US 19 North for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection
with US 58 Alt.

Turn Left on to US
58 Alt. towards St. Paul/Coeburn/Norton.

Stay on US 58 Alt. past St. Paul and Coeburn.

The next town you will arrive in is the City of Norton.
As you enter town, there is the Inn at Norton (276-679-7000)
and a Super 8 Motel
(276-679-0893) on your left.
On the right is the
Virginia-Kentucky Regional Shopping Center, which includes an Ingle's grocery
store and several smaller shops.

To continue on to the MEOC Offices, stay on US 58 ALT past the
Inn at Norton and under the
overpass. Just as
you come out the other side of the overpass, take the exit ramp on your right.
This will bring you on to US 23 South.
Stay on US 23 South for another 12 minutes or so (to the
bottom of the mountain) and you will approach Big Stone Gap.

Approaching Big Stone Gap you will see a sign that says Big Stone Gap
Next Two Exits.

To get to the MEOC Offices, take the first exit at the overpass bridge.
This will exit on to State
Route 610.
Turn right at the foot of the exit ramp towards town.
Stay on this road for 1.5 mile. You
will pass a large brick high school on your right, go around a curve to the
left, go down a long straight
and then around a SHARP CURVE TO THE LEFT.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER this sharp curve, turn
right on the first street on the
right. This is beside an Citgo Market (local convenience store
selling gas, has a
deli, etc.). IF
YOU CROSS THE RAIL ROAD TRACKS YOU WENT TOO FAR.
The MEOC Offices are straight ahead about 200 yards (just past Gap
Lumber). A long gray
building with
our sign out front. Park in the front
parking lot.
