For the period of July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2006 Pharmacy Connect of Southwest Virginia processed 134,367 applications, accessed 343,081 different prescription medications, and accessed $74,887,874.45 of wholesale valued free medications for the uninsured people in our community.

This program assists ADULTS OF ALL AGES who have no prescription health coverage to access the free  medications from participating pharmaceutical companies.

Eligibility is determined by the pharmaceutical companies participating in this program; each has different eligibility criteria. Our staff completes the application using a specially designed computer program developed by the Virginia Health Care Foundation. 

This is a joint, cooperative partnership with Clinch River Health Services, Inc., Cumberland Plateau Health District, Junction Center for Independent Living, LENOWISCO Health District, St. Mary’s Health Wagon, Southwest Virginia Community Health System, Inc. (Tazewell Community Health, Stone Mountain Health Services, Inc. and the Virginia Health Care Foundation. Funding is provided by the Virginia General Assembly.

Fees: No charge.

 

Eligibility:  Medically indigent adults 18 years of age and older.

 

Intake Procedure:  Walk-ins and telephone referrals accepted.

 

Service Area:  Counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Tazewell and Wise Counties, and The City of Norton.
