    Mountain Empire Older Citizens, Inc. has an opening in their Children’s Services department. The position is full time with benefits and is a combined position: part-time Child Forensic Interviewer with the Southwest Virginia Children’s Advocacy Center and Family Support Worker with Healthy Families for Southwest Virginia. The Child Forensic Interviewer conducts neutral, fact finding interviews of children at the center regarding allegations of child abuse/neglect and coordinates services with multidisciplinary team members. The Family Support Worker initiates and maintains regular and long-term contact/support with families in their homes. Activities are family-centered and strength-based, assisting in strengthening the parent-child relationship. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Maturity, experience and knowledge of child abuse, victimization, child development, criminal justice, judicial systems and conducting interviews. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to relate to people with respect for their individuality. Maturity and experience in successfully working with children 0-5 years and their families. Must have knowledge of normal child growth/development and parent-child relationships. Must possess basic computer skills, an understanding of cultural diversity and be non-judgmental. Self-motivated and task oriented. Experience in working with community agencies, including making referrals. Good writing and organizational skills.     The Southwest Virginia Children’s Advocacy Center Case Manager is a full-time, salaried position within Mountain Empire Older Citizens Children’s Services Department. The Case Manager will provide supportive and trauma-focused treatment services to victims/survivors of child abuse. Must possess a master’s degree in social work, psychology or related field, be licensure eligible and have experience working with children of all ages and abilities. Must have the ability to professionally communicate with children, parents, families and community agencies. Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills; experience working with families; knowledge of basic crisis intervention; knowledge of the dynamics of abuse and an understanding of diversity. Must possess basic computer skills and an ability to travel within service areas. Must be flexible, non-judgmental and successfully complete state and federal background checks.     Mountain Empire Older Citizens Program for All Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE) is accepting applications for Personal Care Aides (PCA) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to provide personal care services in the MEOC PACE Adult Day Health Center (ADHC) in Big Stone Gap, VA.

    We are seeking PCAs and CNAs who are willing to work in an Adult Day Health Care setting and have at least one year experience in caring for the frail elderly.

    These are hourly positions with the starting wage at $8.25 per hour.
